About the artists
Kalpana Zokarkar
An accomplished classical singer, Kalpana Ji carries the rich heritage of Ustad Rajab Ali khan Saheb through her father & guru Shri.Krishnarao (Mamasaheb) Mujumdar.
Gifted with an extremely melodious voice, Kalpana's highly imaginative combination of swaras are pleasing and appealing to knowledgeable listeners. She has the rare honour of receiving a gold medal in light classical music and silver medal in light music in the same year in the AIR competitions an at early age. She has taken guidance from (Late) Dr.Sushila Pohankar & Shri.V.U.Rajurkar
Kalpana has an equal command over the classical and light classical styles of music.
Anuja Zokarkar
Anuja has been born in an eminent musical family in Indore, daughter and disciple of renowned vocalist Vidushi Kalpana Zokarkar and drawn towards Indian Classical Music since a very early age. Blessed with an inherently melodious voice, she has won many competitions of classical and light music since her early school days. She has been awarded a Sangeet Vishaarad , also won a silver medal in the prestigious All India Radio Competition in the category of Ghazals in 2010 and is a graded AIR artist, She stood 1st in the All India Classical Music competition in Vadodara in 2013.
Anuja has done playback singing for the
Marathi movie “Baabu Band Baaja”, which was awarded the best movie in the Pune International
Film festival & has won many International and She has also sung the title
track for the movie “Pratisaad”, which has been widely acclaimed in the Marathi
film musical community. Currently, Anuja is regularly featured on the channel
Active Javed Akhtar, where she has recorded and shot several songs for the famous
lyricist and film writer Javed Akhtar. She has also given her voice to multiple
commercial albums in Hindi Anuja has also been featured on several other TV
shows, including the reality show “Gaurav Maharashtracha” which was aired on
ETV. She regularly performs in Classical & Light music concerts and shows
nation-wide and captivates audiences by blending her legacy of age-old musical
traditions with her modern sensibilities.
Vivek Datar, was disciple of Sri Vinayakrao Kale of Gwalior Gharana, in Thane India for 8 years. He has since been accompanying renowned artists in the Bay area and all over US and India for the last 20+ years. He is passionate about tuning theories of the harmonium and a notable harmonium teacher in the Bay Area.
He is an engineer by profession.Satish Tare
Madhusudan alias Satish started learning Tabla at a very tender age of 5 from his father Late Shri Madhav Tare who himself was disciple of great legendary Ustad Amir Hussein Khan sahib. Later on Satish got a rigorous training from Pt. Arvind Mulgaonkar ji for almost 15 years in Mumbai. He also got guidance from Pt. Vibhav Nageshkar ji while studying Diploma in Music from Mumbai University. During his stay in Pune, he learned from Shri Vivek Joshi. Currently Satish is taking advanced training from the world renowned Tabla maestro, none other than Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri ji, in California for last 10 years.
